Humanity is my first religion

Yes, Humanity over any religion.

Humanity should never be compromised at any cost. Everyone has the freedom to believe in their own religion, and I am not against any religion.

From what I understand, no religion is completely wrong. Every religion has many good values and teachings. But there are also certain cultural norms and practices that, in my opinion, have no real connection to God anymore. Especially the cultural norms I'm talking about are the harmful ones — those are the things we no longer need. It is time for us to wake up and adapt to positive changes in our culture.

So, what do i mean by harmful cultural norms?

Any act done by a human that causes pain(tangible or intangible) to the another innocent living being in any form is harmful. To me, humanity means choosing kindness, compassion, and fairness over cruelty and blind practices.

why am i connecting this with religion?

Because many inhuman acts are still being justified in the name of religion or culture, and that needs to change. For example, killing animals as a ritual, disrespecting others for following a different religion, or punishing people for their beliefs. There are tons of instances where women suffer in the name of culture, especially when it comes to their basic rights and freedom.

After realizing the imp of humanity, especially after seeing disastrous wars between countries, violence, and the suffering of innocent people, i felt deeply disturbed. it made me question how cruel human beings can become because of things like ego, power, and domination ~ all of which end up costing precious lives.

ever since the realization, I made a personal decision to stop consuming non-vegetarian food, because I now see it as something I no longer want to be a part of.

At the end of the day, if our beliefs do not make us kinder, more compassionate, and more humane, then what is the point?

Thank you for reading till the end and taking a step toward being wiser. :)
